SCOTT COUNTY, Ky. (WKYT) - Fire destroyed a home this morning in Scott County near Sadieville. firefighters say the home in the 1200-block of North Rays Fork Road was fully engulfed when they responded around 7:30 this morning.

No one was injured in the fire. Investigators are working to determine the cause but tell us nothing is suspicious at this point.

Richard Beckham lives nearby and says he helped the tenants in the home who were house sitting for the owner who was out of town.

"Yeah, I seen fire. I was over there on the farm and looking at the cattle, and I seen it coming up and smoke all over the place, and time I got around over here, of course it done fell in."

Beckham says the tenants credit a fire alarm for waking them up and letting them get out of the home in time.
