Firefighters battle heat, house fire

It was a tough night for firefighters late Monday, who battled a house fire as well as the stifling heat.

Flames destroyed the home on Little Pittsburgh Road near East Bernstadt in Laurel County.

No one was home at the time.

Crews from four different departments were called to the scene and had to take extra precautions because it's so hot.

The cause into what sparked the fire is under investigation.
