First Federal Bank fails in Lexington

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - On Friday, the First Federal Bank in Lexington was closed by the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency.

All deposit accounts have been transferred to Your Community Bank, New Albany, IN. For more information on Your Community Bank, visit www.yourcommunitybank.com.

Two of the five First Federal Bank branches will be open on Saturday. Those are the Tates Creek branch, open from 9 AM to 12 PM, and the Georgetown branch, open from 9 AM to 12 PM.

The FDIC has useful information regarding accounts with First Federal Bank. In addition to a checking account, many had Certificates of Deposit, business checking accounts, a Social Security direct deposit and etc. For information on those accounts please contact the FDIC or visit http://www.fdic.gov/bank/individual/failed/firstfederal-ky.html.
