First Lexington baby born in 2013

LEXINGTON, Ky (WKYT) -- A Lexington couple started the new year off right, with a newborn!

Richard and Rebecca Thomas are proud parents of Emma Claire.
Little Emma is the first baby born in Lexington this year. Coming into the world at 3:31 a.m. at seven pounds nine ounces.

She was born at Saint Joe East Hospital.

The little one was not due until the fourteenth of January, but the Thomas' realize this is a special time.

"She's obviously got a special plan for her life and her family's very excited to welcome her," said mom, Rebecca Thomas.

This is the Thomas' fourth child and they say Emma will be their last.
