LEXINGTON, Ky. (AP) - Kentucky first lady Jane Beshear will read a children's book with dozens of youngsters hoping to help set a reading world record this week.

Beshear will read to 150 children Thursday morning at The Nest Center for Women, Children and Families in Lexington. They are taking part in Jumpstart's Read for the Record in partnership with the Pearson Foundation to bring together children and adults to read the same book on the same day.

The official campaign book is "Ladybug Girl and the Bug Squad" by David Soman and Jacky Davis. The book can be downloaded for free at http://wegivebooks.org , a free library of digital children's books offered by the Pearson Foundation and the Penguin Group.

The foundation is donating an assortment of Penguin books to The Nest Center.
