What a nice surprise to see in the skies all across Kentucky on Sunday evening. It's only a surprise because most of us, even myself, get into a rut where we can never imagine a sunny day again. It made a much needed return to the entire area.
Scattered showers and storms will be back on the menu beginning Monday. It's the normal afternoon and evening activity that we see so many times during the summer months.
A mid week system looks to bring more widespread rain to the region. There's even the potential for some heavier rounds of rain. That's the last thing we really want to hear, but the ingredients will be there. So far, in July alone, we picked up nearly four and a half inches of rainfall. Keep in mind that we are just seven days into the month.
