FLEMING COUNTY, Ky. (WKYT) - Thousands, including friends, family, and community members, said goodbye to a teenager who investigators say died after falling into a rock quarry.
Search crews found 15-year old Ricky Hamilton, Jr.'s body Tuesday in Fleming County.
He disappeared last weekend after getting separated from his father while on a hunting trip.
His parents, Kathy and Ricky Hamilton, Sr., say they can't help but turn to their faith during this time of loss.
"We're never ready, but we know God had other plans," said Ricky, Jr.'s mother, Kathy.
His parents say they envisioned him walking over the hill home, but even though their son is dead, they recognize the time and effort others put in trying to bring him home.
"To every person that so diligently searched for our son to help bring him home, we want to say thank you to everyone. And to those we can't reach, we are so grateful," said Ricky, Jr.'s parents.
Hamilton's visitation was set for 4 to 8 p.m. Saturday at Hutton Funeral Home in Hillsboro. His funeral is 2 p.m. Sunday in the Fleming County High School gym.
