Florence Police release pictures of robbery suspect

The Florence Police Department hopes surveillance pictures from a recent robbery can help them identify a suspect.

Around 11:03 P.M on Valentine's Day, the Florence Police Department responded to the Speedway Gas Station at 985 Burlington Pike for a robbery in progress. According to the store clerk a white man, wearing a grey hoodie, black hat and blue jeans, entered the business.

The man picked up a bottle of pop from one of the coolers in the back of the store and walked up to the register. The clerk says the man placed his right hand in the front pocket of his hoodie and implied that he had a weapon. He demanded that the clerk open his register. He then reached his left hand into the register and took off with cash. While the man left on foot, surveillance video shows a silver or tan four door vehicle leaving from behind the store after the robbery. Police say the vehicle may have been involved.

Anyone with information that may help in identifying the robber is asked to please contact the Florence Police Department at (859) 647-5420.
