FONTANA, Calif. (AP) - Police officers with the school district in Fontana, Calif., are now armed with high-powered semiautomatic rifles.
District officials say the weapons, purchased a week before the Sandy Hook Elementary School massacre, could prevent a similar attack.
But some district parents aren't happy with the idea. One parent is concerned that a weapon will fall into the wrong hands.
Another questions why money was spent on guns, but the district couldn't afford guidance counselors.
