Former Jackson Co. clerk acquitted of murder arrested again

CORBINl, Ky. (WKYT) - A former county clerk, once charged with murder, is facing more legal trouble.

Corbin police say they arrested former Jackson County Clerk Jerry Wayne Dean Tuesday morning. Dean is charged with possession of a controlled substance.

Police say Dean and another man were arguing outside a Burger King, they also received a tip the men had drugs on them.

Police say they found a oxycontin pill in his pocket along with ten prescriptions written for other people.

Dean was once charged with murdering a former employee, Audrey Marcum, but a jury found him not guilty in 2004.
