HARDINSBURG, Ky. (AP) - A former Kentucky sheriff has been found safe four days after he disappeared from his family's home.
A local TV station reports that searchers found 89-year-old Robert E. "Bobby" Haynes inside his pickup truck not far from where he was last seen. He was being examined by doctors and his condition was not immediately known.
Haynes served as Breckinridge County sheriff in the early 1980s.
Officials issued a Golden Alert on Thursday after Haynes disappeared. Haynes, who lives with Alzheimer's disease, had last been seen around 3:30 p.m. Thursday driving a 1994 red Chevrolet S-10 pickup truck on the property.
