Former Wildcat faces felony theft, drug charges

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - A former UK basketball player is in trouble with police again.

Lexington Police arrested 33-year old Souleymane "Jules" Camara late Thursday night at an apartment complex on Armstrong Mill Road.

A police report states that officers went to serve Camara with a warrant issued in November on a felony theft by unlawful taking charge. Back in November, police told WKYT that those charges stemmed from a stolen gun investigation.

While serving the warrant on Thursday night, police stated in their report that Camara had a small metal pipe in his right coat pocket and admitted that he used it to smoke crack cocaine.

Camara is charged with felony theft by unlawful taking and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Back in 2000, Camara was convicted of driving under the influence. Police charged him with DUI again in 2010.
