Former community leader pleads not guilty to theft

MOREHEAD, Ky. (WKYT) - A former community leader, accused of stealing more than $70,000 from her former employer, appeared in court on Friday.

48-year-old Terry Cline Alderman pleaded not guilty for theft by unlawful taking in Rowan County.

Investigators say she stole money from the group "Morehead Tomorrow." Police say was the executive director of the community-based program between 2004 and this year. Alderman resigned from the position in June of this year.

Alderman will be back in court in January.
