FRANKFORT, Ky. (AP) - A woman who once worked as a lifeguard and tour guide at General Butler State Resort Park has now taken over as manager.
The appointment of Misty Wheeler was announced Tuesday by Kentucky State Parks Commissioner Elaine Walker. Wheeler actually has been on the job since March 1.
Wheeler, a Northern Kentucky University graduate, spent the past 11 working for the Carroll County school district in the same community where the park is located. Wheeler had worked at the park during college, serving in a variety of roles.
As manager, Wheeler will over a lodge, cottages, restaurant, conference center, campground, golf course and a fishing lake.
