Former employee arrested for fast food robbery

An unusual twist during an attempted robbery at a fast food restaurant.

Lexington police say a man walked into the Hardee's on Richmond Road around 9:00 Tuesday night, showed a knife and demanded money. But police say employees recognized the man as someone who used to work at the restaurant.

They tackled him and held him down until police arrived. Police later arrested the suspect and charged him with robbery.

The manager of the Hardee's tells 27 Newsfirst the suspect was fired from his job there about six months ago.
