Fourth of July traffic predicted to be the highest since 2007

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - Travel Authority AAA predicts this year will have highest numbers of motorists on the roadways for the 4th of July holiday since 2007.

AAA expects higher prices at the gas pumps with the increased traffic.

They expect 41 million Americans will travel over 50 miles during the holiday weekend.

In Lexington, the annual 4th of July parade will will begin Friday at 2:00 p.m. and run on Main Street between Thoroughbred Park and Triangle Park.

The Lexington Herald-Leader reports event organizers had to move some of the venues because of construction downtown.
