Franklin deputies patrolling for stranded drivers

FRANKFORT, Ky. (WKYT) - The sheriff's office has responded to more than a dozen crashes across Franklin County. Luckily, none of those crashes caused any major injuries.

Officials are now concerned over the dropping temperature because that will cause the water on the roads to freeze.
If you lose control of your car, Sheriff Pat Melton advises letting off the gas and steering into the direction you want your car to go.

Melton also suggests carrying a blanket, flashlight, and a charged cell phone just in case your car breaks down.

"Just be very careful if you have to be out. Use extreme caution while traveling the roads," Melton said.

Franklin County deputies will be on patrol throughout Tuesday night looking for stranded drivers.
