Updated: Fri 3:39 PM, Oct 12, 2012

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - The Fayette County Health Department is helping to keep you and your family protected from the flu this winter for free.

Friday is Free Flu Friday, and health officials say they expect to give up to 2,000 free shots.

This year's vaccine protects against the seasonal flu and the H1N1 virus.

Health officials recommend everyone six months and older get the flu shoe.

The event runs until 5 p.m. at the Imani Family Life Center on Georgetown Road.
