Fugitive from justice arrested after hit-and-run

FRANKFORT, Ky. - A man arrested after a hit-and-run on Sunday in Frankfort was discovered to be a wanted fugitive.

Frankfort Police reported that Simyon J. Minion was involved in an accident on Thornhill Bypass and Schenkel Lane. Minion fled the scene in his car, and a police officer pursued him in a high-speed chase down Bypass Plaza Drive.

Police said that Minion stopped at an apartment complex, left his car, and ran away on foot. After a foot pursuit, police arrested Minion.

They charged him with leaving the scene of an accident, driving with a suspended license, evading police, resisting arrest, and disorderly conduct.

Police told us that during the course of the investigation, they learned that the 30 year old Minion was a wanted fugitive and had numerous warrants out for his arrest, including a warrant for drug trafficking.

They also learned that he had fled across state lines after being charged in Ohio with three counts of drug trafficking.

Minion is currently lodged in the Franklin County Regional Jail.
