Fundraiser for injured teen kicks off Monday

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - One month after she was injured, community members will rally to raise money for a teen, hit while riding her bike.

"Goals for Shaina Witt" kicks off Monday at the Masterson Station soccer fields in Lexington.

The 15-year-old was critically injured in early August at the Man O'War, Boston Road intersection.

Money from the event will go toward Witt's medical bills.

WKYT is told she is now recovering at a rehabilitation center.
