Rounds of showers and storms continue to push across the region. This action is packing a lot of lightning and heavy rainfall. Flash flooding is possible through Wednesday.
MARION COUNTY, Ky. (WKYT) - Funeral arrangements are now set for a fallen Kentucky sheriff's deputy.
Visitation for Deputy Anthony Rakes will be Friday at 5:00 p.m. at Bosley Funeral Home in Lebanon.
A second visitation will be Saturday at eleven at Marion County High School. Rakes' funeral will follow at one, also at the high school.
Deputy Rakes was shot and killed on Wednesday during a traffic stop along Highway 68 in Marion County. State Police say Rakes was approaching the car when the driver opened fire, hitting Rakes twice in the chest. Rakes was rushed to the hospital where he died during surgery.
Police arrested 48-year Dewayne Shipp a short time later in Campbellsville. He's charged with murder. Shipp remains in the University of Louisville hospital recovering from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
