LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) -- Funeral arrangements have been set for a Lexington man found dead in the Kentucky River Friday afternoon.

Alex Johnson, 32, went missing from his Lexington home five days before Christmas.

Angela Baldridge went to school with Johnson. She says the past month was hard on everyone that knew him.

'"It kind of consumes your thoughts on a regular basis," said Baldridge.

Lexington firefighter divers recovered Johnson's body. It was found in a 55-gallon blue barrel. He died from blunt force trauma injuries to the head.

"It's just really sad to know that he's gone," said Baldridge.

A Lexington visitation is set for Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Kerr Brothers Funeral Home.

A visitation will be held in Johnson's hometown of Bowling Green on Thursday at 1 p.m., and on Friday after 9 a.m. until service time at JC Kirby and Son Funeral Home.

Johnson's funeral will be held Friday at 2 p.m.
