Updated: Sat 7:25 PM, Jan 26, 2013

MAYSVILLE, Ky - (WKYT) "It's a tragic loss for our community, for the family," said Tracy Royse, a family friend of Trooper Anson Tribby.

That loss was felt by hundreds of friends, family, and fellow officers of the law who cam out to pay their respects to Trooper Tribby.

The 25-year-old died Tuesday night in a crash on I-64 in Clark County. His funeral was held Saturday afternoon at the Maysville Community and Technical College in an auditorium filled with people in uniform.

The young trooper accomplished his goal of joining the State Police in 2010. He worked out of KSP Post 8 in Morehead. During the service every speaker pointed out how much Tribby loved his job and the people that he served.

"He really worked and believed in what he did," Royse said.

Tribby left behind a wife, Rebecca. He graduated from Mason County High School in 2005 and was living in Montgomery County at the time of his death.

After the service hundreds of officers lined the sidewalks to escort Tribby to the Elizaville Cemetery in Fleming County. The line of police cars stretched for almost a mile, every one with their lights running.
