HAZARD, Ky. (WYMT) - The funeral for one of the victims of a recent double homicide investigation was held Sunday in Perry County.
Family and friends are mourning the loss of 38 year old Christina Thacker.
Her uncle Harold Hoskins says he didn't attend Sunday's funeral service because the grief is too much, “I couldn't handle it. I couldn't go in there.”
Police say she was killed one week ago. Firefighters found her body along with the body of Garfield Herald, burned inside a house fire in the Busy community.
And her uncle says the family is searching for answers.
“I mean it wouldn't bring her back but knowing, knowing what really did happen and why, and we just want to know why,” says Hoskins.
Yet, as they remember her loving character, they continue to ask the community for help.
“We just pray that somebody's out there that will come forward and help us find out who did it, because it's been 2 weeks and there aint nothing,” says Hoskins.
Police are still investigating what caused the fire.
Funeral directors say there will be no services held for the other victim, Garfield Herald.
