Victim improving in deadly Clay County shooting

There's new developments in the investigation into Thursday's deadly shooting that killed a Clay County hunter.

Monday afternoon, the Clay County Sheriff told WKYT investigators are waiting on DNA evidence from items found at the scene.

Deputies issued a search warrant Monday afternoon at a home in Fogertown, near where the shooting occurred.

Brian Griffin was killed after he and another hunter were shot early Thursday morning.

We're told the other hunter, Jason Roberts, is improving at UK Hospital.

This holiday weekend, many are spending time with their family and friends. While folks in Southeastern Kentucky will begin saying goodbye to one of theirs.

Visitation is Sunday for a man shot and killed while hunting last week.

Brian Griffin, 28, was killed Thursday near the Fogertown community of Clay County.

Visitation for Griffin began this evening at Horse Creek Baptist Church.

His funeral is tomorrow at 1:00p.m. It is also at the Horse Creek Baptist Church.

The family has requested in lieu of flowers; donations be made to the 1st National Bank of Manchester.

There's no word from authorities whether there is a suspect in the shooting.
