SOMERSET, Ky. (WKYT/WYMT) - Defense attorney Mark Stanziano was gunned down outside his office in Somerset on Friday morning.
Police say the shooter, 40 year old Clinton David Inabnitt, approached Stanziano Thursday night. A police citation says he was mad the attorney wouldn’t help him with a problem.
Most recently Stanziano represented Kenneth Keith, charged in a Danville triple murder. Police say that high profile criminal defense cases case, nor any other high profile case he had represented, had anything to do with the motive.
“Today I lost my best friend. His four daughters lost their father. Three grandchildren lost their grandfather. Aside from that, the legal community lost a great mentor and a great teacher," Bethany Stanziano, Mark's wife, said in the statement.
Stanziano's visitation will be held on Monday, June 30 beginning at 6 p.m. and on Tuesday, July 1 beginning at 8 a.m.. It will be at Southern Oaks Funeral Home on 2110 West Highway 914, Somerset, Ky.
Funeral services for Stanziano will be held on Tuesday, July 1 at 3 p.m.
