All clear given after gas leak on UK campus

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - Emergency crews have given the all clear after a gas leak on the UK campus.

It happened Tuesday afternoon at Cooperstown Dr and Woodland Avenue.

A news release from the University of Kentucky says workers near the Cooperstown Housing complex struck a low-press gas service line, damaging it. There are no known injuries at this time.

Gas to the area has been shut off. Safety and utility officials are on the scene. UK has evacuated one building (F) and office in the Cooperstown Complex as a precaution.

Hilltop Avenue at Woodland Avenue to Columbia Avenue at Woodland is currently closed. UK Police and responders are on site helping to direct traffic and evacuate.
