General showers will be the main action over the next few hours. A few could remain on the strong to severe side in eastern parts of Kentucky.
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - If you're planning to travel this holiday weekend you may be paying a little more for gas if you haven't already filled up.
Gas prices are going up ahead of the Labor Day weekend. According to AAA the average price of a gallon of gas rose by nearly 2 cents overnight to $3.56 a gallon.
That's the biggest overnight increase in six weeks. And prices are even higher in Lexington, about $3.64 a gallon.
Gas is starting to track the rising price of oil, which reached a 2-year high this week with fears of supply disruptions following a US led military attack on Syria.
