Gas jumps ahead of July 4 holiday

Posted: Tue 7:20 AM, Jul 03, 2012

If you're planning to hit the road for July 4, it's likely going to cost you more. Gas prices took a major jump Monday night.

A gallon of regular unleaded gas at most Lexington stations is now at $3.35 a gallon. Monday morning it was around $3.01 a gallon. A few stations are still selling it at that price.

AAA had expected more drivers to travel farther this holiday, in part because gas prices had been dropping.
