Georgetown Police look for motel robbers with unique disguise

GEORGETOWN, Ky. (WKYT) - We're tracking the search for two men police say robbed a central Kentucky motel. One of them had an unusual disguise.

Georgetown Police released some surveillance pictures from the robbery at Winner's Circle Motel which happened Friday night. One of the robbers wore a clown mask.

Working at the front desk of Winner's Circle Motel for 14 years, one employee at Winner's Circle Motel thought she had seen everything until Friday night. It was about 11 p.m. when two men walked in with one wearing a distinct mask. She soon realized she was being robbed.

Shaken up from the robbery, the woman working at the time would rather remain nameless but shared details with us off camera. Several customers have asked her about the incident. She says it all happened so fast that she doesn't remember much.

Georgetown Police are thankful for surveillance photos at the motel that captured one of the men. Not knowing if the men were armed, the employee tells us she just did what they asked and handed them the register drawer. Either hundreds or thousands of dollars in cash was stolen in the robbery.

All the while, she was on the phone with a customer making reservations and says the woman on the other line must have heard everything.

The motel employee says she didn't see what they left in or which way they went. She was too busy calling 911. Police say the two suspects were last seen running towards an auto parts store near Edwards Avenue.

The one suspect not caught on camera is described as a black man, between 5'2" and 5'4", and wearing a blue ball cap and possibly a bandanna. The other suspect pictured in the photos is a black man, about 6'2" to 6'4", and wearing what looks like a clown mask with a red hat.

The robbery happened in a matter of seconds, but it's taking days to hunt down these two men. Georgetown Police say they do not know if the suspects have any weapons.
