GEORGETOWN, Ky. (WKYT) - A two month long, undercover investigation lead to a major drug bust in Georgetown Wednesday afternoon.

Police raided the Quick Stop convenience store at the corner of Pocahontas and South Broadway, seizing dozens of packages of synthetic marijuana, with a street value of nearly $20,000. The workers wanted by police were not at the store at the time of the raid, but investigators say they couldn't wait any longer to move in.

"Anytime we have something like this, of this magnitude and this quantity, you know the place has a drive through window, so it's important to get it off the street as early as possible," says Captain Robert Swanigan, with Georgetown police.

The clerk, who was working at the time, was arrested on an unrelated warrant.

Police say they also recovered a gun and some cash. Investigators say they know who they are looking for and expect to make arrests soon.
