Georgetown man arrested while crews try to clean up his property

GEORGETOWN, Ky. (WKYT) - A man who fought his neighbors and the City of Georgetown over his property has been arrested.

Georgetown Police charged Stephen Price with disorderly conduct, menacing, and obstructing governmental operations.

WKYT has featured Price's property on Rucker Avenue as part of our investigation into the biggest eyesores of the bluegrass since July of 2012.

Just Tuesday, we told you the city had started cleaning up his property after his court appeals ran out, but when crews arrived Wednesday morning to continue work, police say Price confronted them.

"It was reported by code enforcement Mr. Price was allegedly on the back of a back hoe preventing code enforcement from completing their duties," Lt. Jason Whitaker with Georgetown Police told WKYT.

Price has filed an appeal, hoping to reverse the court's decision to allow the city to cleanup his property, a hearing on the matter is scheduled for tomorrow.
