Golden Alert cancelled after couple was found

CORBIN, ky. (WYMT) - The Golden Alert for Homer and Jeanette Martin was cancelled Sunday morning October 14th.

Inside the Martin home, family members are preparing for a homecoming.

Jeanette and Homer Martin were found safe Sunday morning in St. Marys, Georgia.

Local police say the couple stopped at a gas station for gas, but had no money and were disoriented.

“I got to talk to mom briefly this morning, she said ‘well I got to thinking this morning that you all might be worried,’ I was like ok,” said daughter Billie Lancaster

Yet, no matter the reason their children say they're just happy to hear the good news.

“It was a thrill to get to call my family, all the siblings and say they're safe we know where they're at,” said Lancaster.

In order to make sure something like this doesn't happen again the Martin's children have picked up things like organizers and new address books to help with their daily tasks.

They say that no matter what the next step for them may be, it's worth having them home.

“I can't wait to see them. I'm anxious to be with them and spend time with them, and talk all of this over,” said daughter Karen Salmons.

Due to flight delays the couple was not expected to get home until late Sunday night.
