VERSAILLES, Ky. (WKYT) - We told you about the Golden Alert earlier today on WKYT. Just before 4:00 p.m., police located Dennis Wilson in downtown Lexington.

Police issued the alert this morning, 24 hours after Wilson disappeared from his Versailles home.

WKYT was there for Wilson's reunion with his family.

There were a lot of organizations helping search for Dennis Wilson, Versailles police, Woodford County sheriff, the Emergency Management Agency, but it was Lexington police who found the 67 year old a little before 4:00 p.m.

Wilson had been gone since yesterday morning when he went for a walk.

Wilson's wife says her husband walks everywhere he goes, often to Kroger or to get something to eat. But she also says he suffers from depression and the beginning stages of dementia, so when he didn't come straight home she started to worry.

As the neighborhood was canvassed helicopters circled overhead, searching the area around his home. Search dog teams were brought out, but Wilson was spotted by Lexington police near downtown sitting on a concrete retaining wall, they brought him back to Versailles.

His wife says the support she's received during this has been amazing.

Patricia Wilson says she doesn't plan on letting her husband out of her sight anytime soon.

Police just told us Wilson took a cab from Versailles to Lexington, but they're not sure when.

They're helping set the family up with a program called Project Lifesaver which will help them track Wilson's movements in the future.
