GREENUP COUNTY, Ky. (WKYT) - A Northeastern Kentucky police officer is recovering in the hospital after being exposed to harmful materials during a drug bust.

Officers were attempting to execute a warrant on 42-year-old Hubert Dehart in Rural Greenup County, when they say Dehart barricaded himself in a bathroom with an active meth lab.

Dehart tried to dispose of the drugs while officers forced their way into the bathroom. Dehart was taken into custody, but shortly after, two officers were overwhelmed by fumes and taken to the emergency room.

Deputy Rick Craft was treated and released. Deputy Cody Fuller was admitted into the Intensive Care Unit.

Officers also arrested 42-year-old Pamela Dehart. Both suspects were charged with multiple felonies, including manufacturing methamphetamine.
