Group prays for affordable housing in Lexington

A prayer vigil was held Tuesday at the Government Center in downtown Lexington.

The group BUILD, or Building a United Inter-Faith Lexington Through Direct Action, met to pray for city leaders. Organizers of the vigil say Lexington is in the middle of an affordable housing crisis.

The group wants the city to start an affordable housing trust fund, an initiative they say has worked in other cities.

"Many of us in our neighborhoods, we know people that can't find a place to live and have had to move out of lexington because of the direction our city is heading," says Adam Jones, Co-Chair of BUILD.

Jones says affordable housing is an issue his group has been working on for six years.
