Gunman robs Lexington restaurant

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - The hunt is on for a man who held up a restaurant. The crime happened Wednesday morning at the Waffle House on North Broadway.

Lexington Police tell WKYT that a man, armed with a small handgun, walked in the restaurant around four Wednesday morning. He demanded cash from the cashier and took off after getting what he wanted.

Police were able to track the suspect's scent with dogs, but the trail ended in the parking lot.

The robber is described as a black man, standing five feet, nine inches tall. He was wearing a black hoodie and sunglasses. He also had a scarf over his face.

There were no customers inside at the time of the crime.

The clerk was not hurt.
