NICHOLASVILLE, Ky. (WKYT)-Salon employees and owners are hoping to blow through mounting bills for a local salon owner who just lost her husband in a crash.
"We all know as a community how Whitney--she's made a big impact on all of us. We really want to come together and help in any way we can," explained Heads Up Salon Owner Amy Roberts, one of the organizers for today's fund drive.
Three area salons are opening their doors to donate all proceeds to Whitney's medical bills and in an effort to keep her salon open as soon as she gets well enough to get back behind her chair.
Cassie Thomas, another hair dresser continued "I have a lot of my own clients coming in because they want to help out. And heard what had happened."
"It is wonderful!" exclaimed Lori Gann, one of Whitney Gayheart's clients, as she got her hair done. "It is great for the community to come out and support to benefit Whitney."
Gann was one of Whitney Gayheart's clients who felt a little strange sitting is someone else's chair, but agreed it was the only place she should be on this Saturday.
"She is in my thoughts and prayers constantly."
Tara McKibber, another one of Whitney's clients also said "I love being in a community where people step up to help each other."
