The Lexington Legends normally have to worry about rain keeping fans away, but right now, it's the heat.
This weekend, the Lexington Legends were expecting a big turnout for their homestand with Asheville, but instead, they have seen a drop in attendance since record heat hit the bluegrass.
"We've been kind of fortunate we dodged the rain this year, but then all of a sudden we have all this heat and its one thing you really dong think about as much generally. You think about the rain affecting the game but the heat has really been a burden the last few days," said Seth Poteat, Lexington Legends General Manager.
Sunday, the Legends saw the smallest crowd all year. They remind fans there is plenty of shade, water, and fun promotions including squirt guns and frozen t-shirt contests.
