The widespread rounds of showers and storms are closing in on the area. Just as expected, the very few showers that have shown up are west of Lexington. As the low rolls closer to our area it will enhance our shower and thunderstorm coverage.
At this point, the showers will begin filling in from west to east. The best chance to see rain begin will happen during the early morning hours. Those rounds will fill in as we progress through the morning and especially into the afternoon hours. This happens long before the low even arrives. Some of the rain could become heavy at times. I am also not willing to rule out a strong storm or two when this happens. With this solid wall of water moving through, expect highs to be in the 70s on Friday.
The low finally makes it into Kentucky by Saturday. What that means for you is more rounds of heavy showers and thunderstorms. The Expect conditions to be come a little breezy with the low passing right over head. Just like Friday, highs will be stuck in the mid and upper 70s for most of us.
Not much relief comes on Sunday. The coverage of showers and storms won't be quite as aggressive, but we will track a some across the area. Most of the showers at that point will become a little more on the scattered side.
Temperatures will remain several degrees below average for the entire run of this 7-Day Forecast.
We'll be watching the skies very closely for you in the event that we see something strong, severe, or flooding occurs.
