LEXINGTON, Ky. (AP)- Republican Hal Heiner announced Tuesday his intentions to run for the governor of Kentucky on the platform of improving the state's economy.
The former Louisville councilman entered the 2015 race at a campaign kickoff event in Lexington.
Heiner is an engineer and developer, and he said he wants to use his business experience to improve the state's job and personal income growth performance. He has also recruited former Lexington-Fayette County councilwoman KC Crosbie as his running mate.
Another potential GOP candidate is James Comer, the state Agriculture Commissioner. Comer says he's in a strong position if he's to enter the race. but he said for now he's focused on helping Republicans running for office in 2014.
