ROCKCASTLE COUNTY, Ky. (WKYT) - A high-speed chase went through parts of two counties along Interstate 75.

At one point, police say a sheriff's deputy's cruiser was damaged during the chase.

London police tell us they have arrested and charged Charles Dukes, 45, of Newport, Tennessee in this police chase. Dukes is lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center on several charges, including menacing, criminal mischief, wanton endangerment, and fleeing and evading.

We are told the 30-mile police chase started in London ended in Rockcastle County off I-75 Tuesday evening.

London police and Laurel County Sheriff's office along with state police all aided in this chase. It was London police who initially responded to a reckless driving and speeding complaint on the interstate which led to the chase.

Officials with the sheriff's office tell us one of their cruisers was hit and damaged while using a 'box-in' technique to stop Dukes. We are told no one was hurt.

It was on the northbound exit 59 ramp that police finally took the suspect into custody.

London police say they do believe alcohol played a factor in this chase.
