LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - A section of South Broadway between West Main and Vine Street was shut down Saturday night after a woman was killed in an accident.

Officials say a woman was hit, involving a fire truck, at 10 p.m. Saturday night at the intersection of South Broadway and West Main.

Officials are still investigating the circumstances surrounding the accident, but witnesses said the woman may have walked into the side of the truck.

Police are not currently releasing the victim's name as they continue to investigate.

Police said their main goal was crowd control while investigating since it is a busy night downtown.
