LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - The weather didn't stop holiday travelers at the Blue Grass Airport. Traveling this time of year can be difficult, everyone says they're trying to get to their family in time for Thanksgiving.
Renee Todd flew in from Florida on Wednesday. She usually avoids traveling the day before Thanksgiving.
"Generally, I don't like the inconvenience. I don't like the crowds. We generally hangout at home and try to get the kids to us," Todd said.
This year, her son has to work the UK football game and can't travel. Todd and her husband joined the masses and hopped on a plane to Kentucky.
"I will be cooking Thanksgiving for our son and his grad assistant students that couldn't make it home for the holidays," said Todd.
The day before Thanksgiving is one of the busiest times for the airport. Officials say they are much busier when equine and business conventions are going on.
There were some minor delays at the airport because of deicing and bad weather in other cities.
