Horse down, woman charged for animal cruelty

WHITLEY COUNTY, Ky. (WKYT) - On Sunday the Whitley County Sheriff's Department found a brown horse lying in the mud and struggling to survive.

Cindy Gabbard, 45, of Rockholds, Kentucky was charged with cruelty to animals of the second degree.

Whitley County Animal Control arrived shortly after the Sheriff's Department and said that they had been to the same place before after receiving calls that the horses were not being properly cared for.

Animal Control says that the horse had been down for at least six to eight hours without proper attention.

Animal Control unfortunately had to put the horse down because of its condition.
