Very slow moving showers and thunderstorms will move into our area overnight and Sunday. The potential for flooding will be heightened in southern and eastern Kentucky.
Models are showing that storms will once again be possible this afternoon. The bulk of these storms will arrive by the middle of the day with showers and lightning.
This afternoon will also hot and muggy again with daytime highs in the mid to high 80s and high humidity; be sure to drink plenty of water.
The next round of heavy storms will arrive into the 2nd half of the work week as a cold front moves in from the west. This front will help to hit the reset button on the region and clear out the tropical moisture stuck near the surface. This will provide for clearer, drier and cooler conditions in time for next weekend.
