Hot & dry for the Bluegrass northward but scattered showers popping up south

Posted: Wed 12:47 PM, Jul 11, 2012

Fair skies and dry conditions in the Bluegrass has the temperatures soaring this afternoon. Expect highs to reach the lower 90s today for Lexington and the surrounding area. Farther south, scattered showers and storms will develop in proximity of a frontal boundary (currently over Tennessee). Highs in South-Central and SE Kentucky will be in the lower to middle 80s. Much needed widespread rain begins tomorrow and should linger through the weekend.
