Hundreds fight cancer in Lexington

Hundreds of cancer fighters will head out tomorrow morning from downtown Lexington on two wheels.

Tonight it was time to load up on carbs for the first, "roll for the cure."
Cyclists of all ages and abilities will leave in the morning on four, ten, 25, fifty, and 100 mile routes.

Each cyclist must have donations pledged for the Lexington cancer foundation.

Cylists with pledges will begin lining up at 7:30 tomorrow morning, and leaving at eight.

All the money raised goes to the Lexington cancer foundation.

Meanwhile, many people also painted the town 'pink' tonight to honor breast cancer survivors.

The annual "pink tie gala" drew a big crowd to the hilton downtown Lexington.

"75 percent of the money raised here tonight stays here in central kentucky. The money will be used for treatment and research in central kentucky, as well as screening," said Carrie Patterson.

The event featured live music, food, and auctions... it raised money for Susan G. Domen's Lexington affiliate.
