Hundreds raise thousands at Lexington's annual Polar Bear Plunge

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - Snow showers included, some brave souls took on today's tough temperatures to take the 10th annual Polar Bear Plunge.

Folks took the plunge Saturday at Texas Roadhouse on Richmond Road to raise money for Special Olympics.

We're told 350 volunteers jumped into the frigid waters to raise more than $83,000.

Last year, 400 people took part, raising more than $77,000, making it the third largest in the event's 14-year history.
