Traffic moving again after crash injures 5 on I-75

Updated: Thu 12:01 AM, Nov 22, 2012

WILLIAMSBURG, Ky. (WKYT) -- Traffic is moving again on I-75, after a crash closed the road for hours Wednesday night.

Police say a van and truck collided between mile markers four and six around 6 p.m.

At one point, all lanes of the interstate were closed at the crash scene.

Emergency crews say five people had to be taken to the hospital after a van crashed into a truck.

We're told four of those people have life-threatening injuries. They were airlifted to hospitals.

Police say the van swerved in the southbound lanes, lost control, rolled into the northbound lanes, and was hit by a truck.

Just after 7 p.m., users of the Waze traffic navigation app were reporting medical helicopters were called in to the scene and traffic in the area was at a standstill.
